Tigress T-94 Dies To Lung Failure

A tigress identified as T-94 has died in the Khandar Range of Ranthambore National Park in Sawai Madhopur district of Rajasthan. The incident was reported on Sunday and has saddened wildlife lovers and forest officials.

According to forest department officials, a patrol team discovered the carcass of the tigress in the forest area below Ghoda Valley during their morning patrol. After finding the body, the team immediately informed senior forest officials.

The carcass was then taken to the Rajbagh Forest Outpost, where veterinarians conducted a post-mortem examination. After the examination, the tigress was cremated following the guidelines of the National Tiger Conservation Authority in the presence of forest and district administration officials.

Veterinarian C. P. Meena said that the initial findings suggest the tigress died due to lung failure. He explained that several organs, including the lungs and liver, had failed, which likely led to a natural death. However, samples were collected during the post-mortem and will be sent to a laboratory to confirm the exact cause of death.

Ranthambore Divisional Forest Officer Manas Singh stated that Tigress T-94 was around 11 years old. Her territory included forest areas such as Ondi Khoh, Mood Ghusa, Indala, Khatola, Kasera, Balaji, Ghoda Valley, Vindhyakada, and Pharia in the Khandar Range. Officials also confirmed that the carcass was found intact, indicating no signs of external injury.
